Our unique pendant is locally cut from old recycled 1 cent coins with its distinctive two sparrows, in the shape of our beautiful continent Africa.
The 1 cent has a rich historical value for every South African as it gets its meaning from the South African War (Boer War) and can be linked to the Scripture of Matthew 10: 29-31 “Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
It is therefore a truly South African product that can be worn with pride!
The African Coin collections is inspired by old South African coins. These are not hypoallergenic as they contain nickel.
